
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the provision of play therapy services (“Services”) provided by Lisa Bridger (“Therapist”), a qualified play therapy practitioner operating in the United Kingdom. By engaging the Services, client’s (“Clients”) agree to these Terms.
2. Service Provision
2.1. The Therapist will provide play therapy sessions at a mutually agreed location, date, and time.
2.2. The duration and frequency of sessions will be as agreed between the Therapist and the Client.
3. Fees and Payment
3.1. The fee for each session will be agreed upon prior to the commencement of Services. Payment is due within 7 days of the session date.
4. Cancellation and Late Cancellation Fees
4.1. Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance of the scheduled session time to avoid a cancellation fee. Therapy room hire expenses paid up front by the Therapist will remain due.
4.2. Cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance will incur a late cancellation fee equal to 50% of the session fee to cover the costs of travel and therapy space hire.
4.3. Failure to attend a scheduled session without notice (“no-show”) will be treated as a late cancellation, and the full session fee will be charged.
4.4. In the event of an unavoidable cancellation by the Therapist (e.g., illness), the session will be rescheduled at no additional cost to the Client.
5. Confidentiality
5.1. The Therapist is committed to maintaining the confidentiality of all children. Information disclosed during therapy sessions will be kept confidential and will not be shared without the child’s explicit consent, except as required by law.
5.2. Confidential information may be disclosed if:
- There is a risk of harm to the child or others.
- Disclosure is required by a court of law.
- The Therapist has concerns about the safety or welfare of a child.
5.3. In cases where disclosure is necessary, the Therapist will seek to discuss this with the Client beforehand, where appropriate.
6. Record-Keeping
6.1. The Therapist will maintain records of therapy sessions in line with data protection laws (GDPR). These records will be stored securely and statutorily retained for 10 years after the final session.
6.2. Clients have the right to access their records upon request.
7. Safeguarding
7.1. The Therapist is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children. If concerns arise during therapy sessions, appropriate safeguarding protocols will be followed.
8. Liability
8.1. The Therapist will provide Services to the best of their ability, but cannot guarantee specific outcomes from therapy.
8.2. The Therapist’s liability for any claim arising from the provision of Services is limited to the amount paid for the relevant session.
8.3 The Therapist will provide appropriate professional liability insurance.
9. Termination of Services
9.1. Either the Therapist or the Client may terminate the therapeutic relationship at any time. Notice of termination should be provided in writing.
9.2. In the event of termination, any outstanding fees for sessions already provided or cancelled late will remain due.
10. Changes to Terms and Conditions
10.1. The Therapist reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Clients will be notified of any significant changes.
11. Governing Law
11.1. These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
